Answer: My cat was an outdoor cat for a long period, but then he left the country to the city and is declawed. (All before becoming my pet.) Now, this is an animal inside only, but it lacks the grass and trees. Like you, I thought I will try to bring the cat on a leash ... What a mistake! The poor cat is just on the floor at the harness is on. I tried different brands and styles, he does not like the strap around his chest. It does not get up and walk, he will not respond to a gentle) tug (on the leash, it is just there. My vet said it may be difficult to leash train an adult cat. They do not like being controlled like that. You might want to get an inexpensive harness first and let the Kitty wear around the house. If it appears to adjust the harness at this point, you might consider fantasy. Instead of training leaves I let the cat out on the porch, fenced or in the backyard with me - but I have to keep an eye on him. You find also a park for a chat line and some of the largest pet stores. Some you can even ride a cat door so that can come and go as he pleases - but only to the extent that the fleet can chat. Answer: I would go with the scraper because especially when it becomes old Cats love to scratch actually sharpen their claws. Regarding a bed of cats i had when I had cats inside they have never really used their bed, they slept with me or on the back of the sofa they like the high places of sleep, they feel secure that way. Question: I have a mystery on their hands scratch?

My cat Larry is a wonderful little scraper. He uses the post, I had as a champion and he rarely deviates. But Moe .. It's a little devil. I have not seen him scratching around ..... Where do you think it scratched? My bed, sofa and chairs are in tact, I really have no idea! I want to know where it scratches so I could get him a good position that corresponds to what likes to scratch, but I can not understand! Any help? Thank you!

Answer: Not All Cats tear everything apart when scratching. the grating is a excerzise stretching, removing dead parts of claws and mark territory. some cats do this with little damage. they never hide when they scratch if you do not see it, I guess it's either do it lightly on the furniture, or use the mail.

Question: How can you keep your catspaw from gettin stuck under pet flap in cat door?

my cats get their paw stuck under the plastic pet flap in the pet door when they try to push it open it is made out of hard plastic and so it is painful to the cat when you try to free it from the flap because you have to put push down on the paw and push the flap back over their paw to get it out. The flap has two magnets so when it swings it sets back in proper position to keep it closed until they push on it. Has anyone had this problem . maybe removing the magnets would help, but I can not figure out how to get them out. Help I am worried they will stop using the door because of fear of getting paw stuck. The flap releases them onto the screened porch where their litter boxes are.

Answer: I'd definitely remove the magnets if you can. If that doesn't help, then it's time to get a different pet door and install it. Obviously, you do NOT want your cats being afraid to use the door that leads to the litter box! The door that I have used is at the link below; the flap is soft, but still seals well.

Question: Why does my cat pee in the tub and how can I change his behavior?

I have two cats, both male neutered. One of them likes to pee in the tub and just recently decided to pee in the bathroom sink when the tub door was closed. Their litter box is fresh and clean and we have tried a couple of different types of litter and have actually moved (so new tub) nd the cat has repeated the same behavior.
Although I am thankful he pees in a tub not on the carpet, I am wondering what might be causing the behavior and how I might go about changing it.
Please do not respond with scolding or locking the cat outside as I don't believe in that either of those methods are effective.

Answer: Many times it can be the cats way of telling you that he is having a urination problem. I suggest having your cat tested by a vet for crystals which can be very painful for the animal and they will often go in a place you will notice as a form of requesting help.

Question: How do I keep my cat away from my betta tanks?

Ok well my cat knocked over one and I don't want it to happen again. All 4 of them are on my desk. I don't want to lock my cat out of my room. Is there anything I can do to keep my cat away from tanks besides lock him out of my room?
It has a cover.... Please answer my question don't give your opinion on my tank!

Answer: If the cat can physically knock over the tank, the tank's too small and light for fish.

A larger sturdy heavy tank with a strong lid would have no such troubles.

edit: the lid didn't save the Betta much though did it? cat's aren't trainable like dogs. My cat learnt from the first time she jumped on the kitchen counter and got hauled off not to do it again, but no matter how much we stomp, shout, spray, cover up the stairs and sofas, she's learnt to see if any of us are around THEN scratch them to pieces. They're crafty. If your cat has learnt it's cosy around your Betta tanks then it will go there when you are not looking to shout, remove, stomp, pout etc. They are crafty beasts.

My cat also lives in a house with 4 tanks, the smallest at 8 gallons (with a Betta) the largest at around 20 gallons, never shown the blindest bit of interest in them and unless she does some serious weight training, could not push one over.

Answer: If an animal had fleas who approached the post, which may be contaminated. Pets with fleas are like salt shakers - adult fleas do not usually jump, but was out of hundreds of eggs that roll out of the company constant and dispersion. So the post may have eggs, larvae or pupae. The eggs and larvae die very easily with an application of flea spray or powder. But nothing kills pupa - That's what makes the house flea infestations so difficult to treat if you use the wrong methods. Vacuuming helps (and I recommend do), but not 100% efficient. So what we really need do to avoid a major flea problem in your home is to keep all your pets in a good monthly flea preventative like Frontline, Advantage, etc. brands of pet stores will not be as effective. If your pet is well now, the pupae are kept on where to go when they emerge as adults and will die within 4-5 days. If you buy used, you should also run a black light on it to ensure it has no type of urine stains (that will glow green under ultraviolet light). And if I were you, I would make sure that all my cats and dogs in a good product flea game before the new came into the house and keep me there for at least two months (may take 8 weeks for eggs to become adults). I would give a good vacuuming, but I do not bother with sprays or powders from home as treatments that are more toxic to pets. The first line will as effective whether or not to spray the post.

How can we help break her of this habit?

Kitten Versus the Toy

Question: How do you discipline a kitten who is not afraid of water guns or rolled on paper - he thinks are the toys?

This my mom is 8 month old cat. He jumps on the table while eating and helps himself. Almost turned into spaghetti mom the other night. They put him down, jumps up. They say no, he's happy to be recognized. Water gun, wrapped in paper, nose SWAT - all fun and games. Not afraid of anything. Any other ideas?

Answer: A pet supply catalog is a device that can put on a table or furniture. It sends a pulse that feeling scares animals out. I do not know if humans can use the furniture with the device in place. Does your cat jump when people are not using the table? Another option is to put the cat in another room with their own food. I have to laugh at the image of a cat rolling in spaghetti, though!
