Question: i have 4 cats. one male constantly fights one of the females...?
he picks on her all the times and she screams bloody murder!
he is poly-dactyl and i even put those rubber cat claw caps on his nails so he doesn't hurt her so bad.
she only has one eye and is declawed. i took her from a horrible abuse situation. so she can't really fight back.the boy is so strange. he like rolls on the floor in front of her and meows one minute, the next minute he is attacking her- fur flying everywhere.
does any one knows why he does this and what else i can do to stop it?
john, you are funny!rrm38, they all are fixed. yeah i think he girl over reacts sometimes. i am going out later. i think i will look into that feliaway diffuser thing.
Answer: Everything I'm suggesting is assuming that the cats are spayed/neutered. If one or both of them is not, they should be since this will often eliminate behavior issues. That said, this isn't totally unheard of in multiple cat households. Two of my six behave very similarly. It will take time and patience, but you'll just have to keep correcting the bully cat. Stepping between my two and walking toward the aggressor while offering a firm "NO" usually gets the message across to mine.
I also recommend using Feliway diffusers in your home. It's a plug-in diffuser like the scented oil plug ins, except it emits a pheromone that can be calming to cats. This may serve to ease some of the tension between the two.
Of course, correcting the aggressor doesn't always resolve the problem. Sometimes it's a matter of the cat that's being attacked being hyper-sensitive and overreacting to attempts at normal play. I've seen this on more than one occasion and sometimes the bully cat is doing it just because they know they can get the other cat all fired up. In cases like this, oddly enough, treating the cat that's being bullied with anti-anxiety medication (your vet can prescribe) sometimes makes a drastic improvement in the situation. The cats will become calmer and not as overreactive to normal play situations, therefore making it not as interesting for the "bully" cat to tease him/her.

Question: The 'soft claws nail caps' are they safe for cats/ kittens?
I have a 6 month kitten. Grooming can get a bit expencive. Would the soft claw nail caps be ok for kittens?
Answer: I have three cats and two of them use the soft claws. One on his back claws, he is front declawed, and the other on all of his paws. And they are the most WONDERFUL things EVER..
And yes they are safe for kittens, they do make kitten sizes.
I have never taken my cats to the groomers and they are just fine. I clip their nails and I glue on their soft claws and we've had no problem.
Yes they will try and chew them off especially when they are first put on, that is why you should really start as a kitten. And if and when they pull them off, they spit them right back out. They wont eat them and if they happen to eat them, the product is safe and the glue is safe.
I get my claws from www.safepetproducts.com and they cost a fraction of the price as they do in pet stores. And when the kitten gets older you will be able to get several different colors.
My cats have wore them for several years and they all do great and don't even care that they are on. Your cat will be just fine and wont even know they are there. And the cat can still scratch themselves, mine still have a scratching post they use, and they can still climb up on anything.
If you are going to let your cat outside, which I wouldn't, just don't put them on the back claws, that way they can defend themselves.
Thank you for visiting us today, I hope you found what you were looking for. If not, don"t forget to use the psychic search box above. It"s cat approved!
