Question: What is the best control of ticks, fleas for dogs? Has anyone tried bio spot? We live in the south lab w/75 lbs.
Normally used first line, but wondered about everyone else. I've heard of a pill as well ... Has anyone-else?
A: I lived in the south all the time I had my 2 dogs, a Siberian husky and a Puli. I use Advantix on both and have had no problems, nor have I been able determine that there is no credible evidence that causes serious side effects. The importance of this product is that it protects your dog from mosquitoes and ticks, which can be huge problems in the south. Last year I contracted Lyme disease from a tick that gathered in the woods while my dog. My dog had a tick on her. That said, the majority of products on the market to protect your dog and do not take your dog anywhere you may have contact with ticks, you probably can get away with Frontline or Advantage. I have no information on the Bio-field, but my vet tells me Frontline and Advantix are the best and I trust his opinion.

Flea & Tick Control : Determine if Your Dog has Fleas
Question: Where do you get your flea / tick control?I've been using PetCareRx and I am very happy with them, but someone Canadavet.com and I talked about that are much cheaper on the frontline and Advantix. My vet says that to get where it is cheapest. I'm going to buy or the Frontline or Advantix but where to get it. Has anyone ever used Canadavet.com? My vet says just to get the Frontline or Advantix where it is cheaper.
Answer: He misses his vet say that. My vet insists Frontline or Advantix is the best. I use Frontline and have had excellent results. If you purchase a six month supply, we obtain a value of one month free. That's not too bad.
