Question: Cat scratch frustration!?
My cat (5 years) has decided he likes my furniture. He had a chair and scratched could not hurt. I recently got rid of her and she's looking for a new place. I tried the "cat tree" scraper board, carpet things hanging from the door. It is also not impressed with catnip. It seems that she prefers to scratch the sofa instead. Furthermore, I can not bring myself to have its claw. It seems like an unnecessary pain, because she is perfect, except for this (hopefully) Issue Brief. How can I find something you'll like it and redirect it? I am not for additional pets or house to cover the foil. Please provide alternative scratching i not familiar with. She is an intelligent and nice girl redirect behavior if we can find a way for her. Thank you! Of course, the nails are kept. Please suggest scratching ai media have not tried. Thanks again!
Answer: You should try to find out what it was his desk chair that she liked anything. What are the similarities that your sofa? Hopefully that answers to that question will take you to find your favorite scratching surfaces. Some things to consider are: Do you like the vertical horizontal or diagonal scratch? If you like vertical scraper is heavy enough not to fall when really "excavations"? If you like the diagonal, may try to lean a traditional scraper in its side to create an angle. Or you've seen cardboard scrapers in a sort of wedge shape. If you like horizontal surface is large enough for her to get all the way as it does not move when your scratching? What kind of texture did not enjoy it (cardboard, carpet, sisal rope)? My cats are partial to sisal and cardboard. I've also heard of using real tree stumps (but could get a little messy). Would prefer certain places to scratch? Try giving them something to scratch on his chair near where he was the old desk and close your couch. There is many different options you're sure to find something you like. Good luck, and thanks for not Declawing.
No luck yet? Let"s try another excellent online shop for Scratcher Furniture, a little place I like to call Amazon... Yeah, Amazon, they have tons of pet supplies there!
Sorry, your search didn't find anything at Amazon. Please try your search again. |
How to Repair Furniture Scratches : Assessing the Large Gouge in Wood Scratch Repair
Question: We have a total of blue blood seal point Siamese kitten who is 4 ½ months. I live in an apartment? What toys, furniture toys (scratchers develop and climbers), or games I play with it to make sure it does not get bored? I just want to give you the best and not waste. Out of everything I have purchased, his favorite toy is a straw. Learning with cats, had little experience with dogs, and my love for the Siamese breed is now dedicated.
Answer: Only three would pay money for toys after 25yrs of cat ownership, since most of the cats as you pointed out prefer to scrounge their own. 1) Play Cat Cubes ($ 10 at Target or Amazon.com) - More durable than cardboard boxes and easier for them to move around paper bags 2) Krinkle 79cent balls of some sort (only requirement is that light) 3) catnip / pen toy of some kind (do not catnip until Larva fully developed yet). Most Jingle Bell toys are too heavy for the appeal, and stay away from anything that is brightly colored with the edge in the eyes / queues / etc from which marketing is only for humans. Nine out of ten times, commercial cat toys are too heavy to be entertaining a cat - a good rule of thumb is to weigh the toy in his palm, and if you feel then it's too heavy. A super ball bouncing or ping-pong [placed in a bathtub] are generally fun, and yes, it is normal for some cats to look (but not as an order!). I admit that investment in catnip bubbles, but only 1 of my cats enjoyed them. Cats like to see that "hide" their toys under rugs or behind furniture or under tablecloths - anywhere where can we expect the fish out. Usually created some of these games before going to work every day. Some also as you try to hide so they can find. They do absolutely love for climbing and jumping, but has several well-placed shelves or bookshelves then a cat tree is not strictly necessary. If your cat is keeping their claws, and then pay good money for a high-scratching post Sissal and at least one of the cardboard scratchers - put them in a well house traficked (not by the way). Most scratching posts are too short or inclination, so that a discerning buyer. As for games, almost all cats like "the trap "for unwary chain / toy to be pulled along with them. Try to drag the chain away from them though (it will be interesting) and are always fascinated when an object partially out of sight. It seems that humans are fun to juggle too, if you are desperate. Set aside a work of theater dedicated time each day - we hope your cats - as you would a dog, cats as well as schedules dogs.
