Question: male cat is not using the litterbox?
I have a male cat, 1 1 / 2 years old. He has always used a litter box. I keep very clean picture, and is also self cleaning. Garbage is refreshed every day. He did not use it anymore. He just suddenly stopped! He's not losing weight. He has a great appetite, and everything else is normal. It is also neutered and has been since he was a kitten. Any idea or suggestion? I've always had cats, and this is the first time I've seen a cat doing this.
Answer: It is estimated that 85% of the time a cat stops using the litter box is because of a urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection causes pain when urinating and begin to associate pain with the litter box. Cats are famous for hiding any pain they feel, therefore can not observe other symptoms. Please have this possibility ruled out by him to a vet immediately. Q: The cat is an idiot and urinate in front of you that like a problem ...?My Cat Fred is very stubborn and vindictive. It's a cross Siamese cat and is currently 5 mos old and since he was a kitten to pee on something or you and sometimes for no apparent reason, or if you get in trouble for something earlier in the day. The other day I was captured at the dinner table my roommate bun, so you cry Hey! on it, trample rises in their direction, and runs on off & we Several small pillow throw around in the cat, so get some pillow threw in his direction. So later in the evening when we are in bed, just sleep, pee on me and my girlfriend! And the amount of urine was not sure I held it for a very long time, I was surprised that there could be urinating both in such a small body. So I went into the basement for the rest of the night And it is not allowed in the bedroom. But we also have another cat, Slick, who is 9 years old and has no problem like that at all. We have a self-cleaning litterbox ....
Answer: Here are some suggestions for their litter box problems: - Provide a box for each cat - Change litter daily - Provide constant access to a box - to the mark previously used for garbage and / or - Discontinue new disinfectant - Move box to where it was previously used - Eliminate new or frightening noise near litter box -- Move food and water away from litter box - If cat is only going in one place, put the litter box in the exact location and gradually move back to where you want, at a rate of one foot per day - If there are several places, try putting dishes of cat food in those areas to discourage further elimination there - Experiment with different textures of litter (cats prefer sandy litter) - Use a covered litter box for cats that stand in the box but eliminate outside of it Anyone who has had the displeasure of litter box lapses in their home has probably asked the question "WHY!". "Why is my cat doing something nasty in my house! "For the beginnings of an answer to this question, let's go back to the way we train our cats to use the litter box. Think about it, how to train your cat to use a litter box? If you're like most people, is likely to put the cat in or near the litter box a few times and then counted with a good sense of the cat to use the post box. Amazingly enough this method often works (try that with a dog), and the reason this works is because what we are not counting is the proper meaning of cat but the cat's preference for a particular litter box material. Problems arise when your cat does not like or develops an aversion to the box sand that has given us. Let's be fair here. There is absolutely no reason to expect every cat, as the same material, or even a cat who prefers the same material through a lifetime. Ok, first lesson learned: not trained your cat to use a litter box. At best, he offered the cat something recognizable as waste. If your cat is litter box problems then have to figure out how to make the litter box appealing to the cat. Here are some options: 1) pain or illness can cause a cat to stop using the litter box. Cats are very adept at hiding illness, so if your cat's litter box problems then the first thing you have to do is take the cat to a vet for a checkup. 2) If you are collecting waste from the trash every day then you need to start and begin now. 3) Perfumes or other odors can drive your cat out of the sandbox. Scented litters are unacceptable to many cats, the smell of the remains of a cleaning product also could be a problem. Get rid of the perfumes, cleaners and washing away before giving back to the cat box. Remember that cats have an acute sense of smell. 4) Your cat may feel vulnerable when in the sandbox. Are you in a noisy environment (eg, next to the washing machine)? Is it safe from the marauding just like dogs and children, or even other cats? If the box is not semi-private, move it to a better location. 5) Remember those preferences that we talked about earlier. Can have to offer different types of litter before finding the right one. Weird but true, some cats will not use the same box for urine and feces, in which case you have to provide two boxes. The type of box could also be a problem. Spraying is a territorial behavior and has nothing to do with the antipathy of the box. For more information on litter box problems or spraying, consult a trained behavior specialist. Correcting the Problem The key to solving elimination problems is to make the litter box more attractive, and where the cat is soiling instead, unattractive. Sometimes just cleaning the litter box more frequently or changing its location correct the problem. Other times you may have to experiment with different combinations of location and Kitty litter to find a solution. You may even want to offer your cat to the choice of several different boxes, each with different types of garbage, to see that he or she prefers. At the same time, you must break the habit of cat dirt in the new location. Behavior techniques will help a cat with a problem that requires attention from a veterinarian. The Urinary tract infections are a common cause of litter box problems, which your pet's doctor can diagnose and treat. A urinalysis can also rule out diabetes. Other conditions that may affect elimination behavior include arthritis - which makes is painful to climb in and out of the box - and constipation.

I try to make a homemade scratching post for the cat to my roommate, so it does not reason nothing. Please share.
Answer: You need these fun cat scratching post is completed a piece of wood, some rope and a staple food Gun. I started my cat scratching post with a piece of 1 "x4" wood that was 24 centimeters long. Then I took a spool of hemp rope and tied it to the bottom my board with a staple gun. Once the bottom of the rope was securely fastened on the board, I continued my rope tightly around Wrap my board. At this point I have a sepperate 16" piece of rope, and attached each end of it safely down the sides of the wrapped scratching post. That makes a tire of the rope at the top of your cat tree, so that you can hang it on a door handle, if you want. Once I was sure my hanging loop fortified, I went on, wrap my rope to the board, wrapping it over the hanging rope loop on the pages of the board, until I reach the top of my board. I secured secured the rope at the top of the scratching post, the same way that I am the rope at the bottom. I then rubbed catnip on my scratching post and it hung on my door. Make sure to check, that the rope is securely fastened in all areas of the cat tree, and that no staples are loose or sticking out that could hurt your cat. have fun watching your cat play with it ~ Alex

I just got posed this question by a friend. Is there such a thing as a swinging pet door designed for a sliding glass door? If there is, Where do I find it?
Answer: Yes. I have one.
It is a panel you put in the sliding glass door. The door only closes part way, but the panel makes it a weathertight seal.
At the base of the panel is an opening for your pet, complete with a swinging door.

Question: How can I train my cats to use a pet door? They are 10 and 11 years old.?
Answer: We did that last year, although our cats aren't that old. We put their food bowls just on the opposite side of the door so they could see them. We also removed the little magnet that latches the door so it would be easier for them at first. I'm not sure if that would be a good idea for you though--ours was an indoor cat door, leading to the basement. I wouldn't unlatch an outdoor cat door. The other thing we did was occasionally we'd just push the cat through the door to show them that they could get through there.

Secretariat's Triple Crown - Part 1 - Sportscentury
Question: Is there really a Filly Triple Crown?Earlier I asked a question about what I thought Filly Triple Crown, and someone told me about the 3 races for 3yo fillies consist tuberculosis and another person told me that there really is no official Filly Triple Crown. If I think they should receive as much attention as the Triple Crown horse. I guess it's because horse racing is a sport dominated by men. Nothing against male horses, but I think mares should receive much attention as foals. But that is another matter.
Answer: I agree that the mares should receive as much attention as the colts and fillies that are often neglected. I do not mean that there is no series of 3 races for fillies that could be called the crown mare. I just say it's not exactly what that of foals. Colts must register to be nominated to the Triple Crown, to run in races of the Triple Crown. Fillies lacks a nominating process. Colts noted for the Triple Crown as soon as their first career break as a year 2 or 3 years. Youngsters are very specific for the Kentucky Oaks and end the careers of the Crown Filly if they have their headquarters in New York during the summer. Colts across the country and some international horses pointing to the Triple Crown. There is great fillies migration to New York for careers in the Crown Filly ... not seen much of the west coast of fillies to come to New York for the races. The filly 3 races are spaced wide apart and held in similar distances, so if you're based in New York with a talented 3 year old filly, finished almost a run in these races. A couple of years ago a very good mare Eighth call won the first two races (Mother Goose and CCAOaks) and talked about who could win the Filly crown when he ran in the Alabama ... so it is still reference to the Crown filly, but just not the same as the ponies of the crown. That's why I think I should move to 3 horse racing in the same 3 tracks in the same weekend as the crown of foals ... I think it would make much more attention. And everyone knows that the Kentucky Oaks is the biggest race fillies 3 years old, not the Mother Goose, CCAOaks, or Alabama.

Question: Cat / Pet Feeder, which is not plastic?My cat is allergic to plastic, but I'm leaving for the weekend and need a charger for it. I checked everywhere, but found none that are not made of plastic. For dry food, it does bother me put in a large bowl, but the water that I do not want a big bowl sitting around because it is fast becoming dirty. Answer: Why not put in stainless steel, ceramic or more bowls around the house (2-3) for water and even food (a bowl). When we leave for the weekend, they have access to 3 cups water (their normal and large dog). Everyone is beautiful and the water is always there when we come back - not much, but enough:)

Question: Furminator question, grooming the cat and dog!?
I have a yellow lab and 4 cats. I got the medium furminator and Ive since used it on everyone. Its been 3 days and the cats are shedding and so is the dog. How often do I use the furminator and for how long each pet? They all love it!
Answer: I use the small one on my pekingese whenever she's looking bushy. My vet says you can use it everyday if you want. I think it works better on short-haired dogs, because it pulls a little too much on the long hair, so my pek is not a big fan of the furminator.

Question: Can you flea and roundworm tablets or powder for cats?
Do you have a few semi-wild cats I have and I can not tame feed.They not really tailored approach is always scratching and noticed a ball of fur that had dead worms in itself. Can you tablets or powder you can put in the cat food?
Answer: I know that there are certain types of deworm that powder that you sprinkle on your cat food may come, but I believe not that there is something that you can give them so fleas. Even if you get tablets or capsules, you can either open or crush the tablets The capsules and sprinkle the powder on them. However, if your cats are picky, good luck. I know that the tablets / capsules are bitter and perhaps the cat do not want, then eat the food. I would not recommend something to the Petstore near you, because I have seen and heard bad about them. Ask You with your local veterinarian and the things from them. At the vet's office I was working on, we saw animals having problems with the kidneys, and even the flea medicine on know the counter (I especially Hartz, which is sold) is very bad. So, check with your veterinarian and use reccomendations. I am glad to hear that you are caring for the cats ... Keep up the good work!

Question: What races do you think are possibly my cats bloodlines?
I'm curious ... I have my two cats from a box-literally. They were 2 of 7 and I do not believe that they originated from the same litter ... but I'm baffled. Any idea of their bloodlines and / or race? Isabella is all gray - and I recommend it most closely resembles is a British Shorthair (British Blue) ... I also looked at Russian Blue, but it must be a hybrid. It has medium coat (VERY thick), green / gold eyes and a very royal Attitude! It is independent, and can be very shy ... she is strikingly beautiful, tho. Lola is all white, with signs of calico on the back. It has a black spot are behind each paw on the back of the legs and their eyes much more than their golden Sissys. She is playful and loyal and also a major cuddler! Answer: They are both domestic tabbies. I love the gray eyes. We've had cats before, not such as catnip, and others that if it went pretty bonkers.

Question: My cat does not eat the house very well, what happens?I just picked a beautiful gray short hair cat Humane League six days ago. I bring home. She seems healthy, but actually does not eat much. I tried dry food and wet, but she eats for about 10 seconds and walks away. I know nothing about their eating habits before since I was a stray. I feel so helpless as a pet owner. It makes me sad! Normally really pets tear into their food. What the hell was she fed before, caviar, shrimp, and catnip? What is a pet owner to do? I already had vet. , I asked. They did not give me any suggestion. He said he is healthy. Can any cat owners out there help me? Should I put the same brand of dry food in his bowl as my other cat and have the attitude that sooner or later going to eat? It seems cruel, but I do not know what else to do. I'm worried. She is the thin enough already! I'm throwing a lot of food away and it's getting expensive!
Answer: Cats are very environements and sensitive to their need time to cope with the changes. when a cat is under the pressure of some sort, it is natural that they did not eat for a while. We just recently moved our cats took a couple of days to return to their eating habits. the best way to get your cat to eat is to give you a tranquil atmosphere and a quiet you. keep another cat in a separate area for the two time away from eachother. speek reassuring to pet the cat and whether he will be. maintain calm when you are around. when he has time to adapt, it will come around and do not worry, it will be hungry!
