Question: blind dog in search of a jet of water of good quality?
Fontaine would be best for a blind dog find her water? We tried some of the pet, but of course they are designed to be quiet, so pretty useless. I need some something that at least some noise drip. Please include links if you know of a good fountain. Thank you you
Answer: The sound is not the only way you can use for a blind dog. You can place a "Stick Up 'at the water fountain and dog may find the sense of smell.

Luna the cat has an unusual drinking style from Drinkwell pet fountain
Question: I plan to obtain a water fountain pet my cat. Could someone who has one give me their opinion?Answer: I can not own because my cats love playing in as much water they have the water splashed everywhere! I work in a clinic cat and we use for cats clinic. I also hear comments from a lot of people who have fountains on how their cats like them. At the clinic, all cats seem to enjoy drinking. from the owners - the cats tend to prefer to drink running water from faucets or bathtubs love the fountain. I think most cats do not like - water keeps running cooler, fresher and more oxygeniated.

My two cats love to drink running water faucets, so I'd like to get them a fresh flow water fountain. There are three models that I look forward to: 1: Drinkwell Fresh Water Fountain for cats and small dogs [top seller and won Got 4.4 out of 5 possible stars on Petsmart.com) 2: Cat-It Drinking Fountain for Cats [4.3 out of 5 stars] 3: Petmate Fresh Flow Cat Fountain [bestseller, got 4 out of 5 stars] All three are $ 39.99. If you have no experience with these models, would appreciate your advice =)

Compare All Three Drinkwell Fountain Models
Question: Original Drinkwell Platinum Cat vs. source?I want to buy a source of mat for my 2 cats. (I have a dome-type source and not Catita I like it.) I am thinking about buying the Platinum Drinkwell because the reviews say it is quieter than the original and that is easier to clean and refill, etc. Could Someone can tell me how much water is Platinum? He might add a tank to it? Do I need a tank with only 2 cats? For those who have tried the original and platinum, Is there really much difference? What do you think? There is a price difference of $ 15 in the 2 models.
Answer: I do not have any of those. Mine is the "PetMate FreshFlow" model. I love and now that I have no one touches the regular cup of water! I have to disconnect and rinse it about once a week, though, as several of my pets (dog / Lab Newf, Persian, Ragamuffin cats) are long hair and the hair gets stuck in it has on the water to recirculate it. It's easy to say when cleaning needs, as it is generally very quiet and starts to be noisy when it needs cleaning. This is the only one we have and I definitely recommend http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751260 I opt for a larger source of truth is necessary to clean these things weekly mean dump all the water. I have four cats drinking from it and I just have to fill the container once a week.

Question: Has there been a cat FLUTD develop at a raw food?
Hey guys, My 1.5 years old male cat neutered sieving and started producing small quantities of blood in the urine this morning. He was eating Nature's Variety Chicken organic raw food because it was a kitten and has a water fountain Drinkwell Platinum. I took him to the vet and, among other things, it prescribed Royal Canin SO (bags). I am not a big fan of limitation rules, but I want my child to be healthy. Royal Canin diet so do not look bad as Hill's C / diet D, ingredient-wise. Anyway, I noticed that many people recommend that parents spend on pet food of high quality canned instead of a statute of limitations and that many people have had success with it. But my cat? Has anyone fed a high-quality raw or canned food and still had urinary tract issues? I'm a little bummed that my child does not feel well, despite all my efforts to prevent disease. Thoughts, advice, comments, criticisms, please?
Answer: I'm cured with first UTI, but I can not say that I even saw a UTI develop first. Personally, I never fed Natures Variety raw, but I think it says it is high in bone which may, or may not be true, and which may, or may not, initiate a UTI. It's hard to say because even if it's raw, it's always comerially manufactuered. Can you try to go to a home made raw you comtol content files. I use the recipe catinfo.org but if you do not want to crush the bones you could pass something like www.felinefuture.com and add powder, meat and liver. My cats loved that stuff. It's hard to say ... but whatever ... I want to keep any food and perscription first try canned or other options first. This is of course all my opinion. Here are some suggestions for you other advice from my standard folder. Been there, done this. : O (I have 2 boys that I had almost lost to FLUTD, struvite crystals, bladder and kidney stones. I managed to cure both naturally (with the help of my vet) by feeding a species appropriate diet of raw foods and adding in a regime of natural supplements. My biggest piece of advice is to know if your vet advises you to use a diet "prescription" food ... choose to ignore this route and switch to diet strictly wet, canned or raw, instead. Veterinarians who prescribe prescription dry food (gasp!) And the same limitation rules preserved as a remedy to the problems of the urinary obviously do not know nothing about feline nutrition and are only bandaiding the problem instead of preventing it first. Unfortunately, most veterinarians learn anything about feline nutrition except what the companies food for cats to teach them when they come to sell their product. All veterinarians that would you put your already sick cat on a food waste made with loads of cheap, like Hills Science Diet, Royal Canin or Purina Prescription clearly knows nothing about cats nutritional needs Cats were never designed to eat dry food. NEVER. They eat their prey whole and wet and they do not have a thirst mechanism. Because of this ... cats are designed to eat only wet food. We idiot human dry food only for our convenience. They do not take enough water to a dry regime and if their systems are not fully discharged from such so they get UTI issues. So we, by dry foods are often the direct cause of any urinary problems in cats. Shows how we used to know, eh? What you must do is unconcentrate urine of cats that crystals have no time to form and the system flushed correctly as it has been designed to do. To do this, you need to stop feeding all dry foods and switch to a diet Stricktly wet food. Either high quality canned or raw food. It is not cheap but it will cost you less in the long term the vet. You can learn more about raw foods to www.catinfo.org or choose a high quality food grain free canned. More dry food for your cat ever. Wet food only! I also personally had success using Glucosomine and Chrondriton to prevent inflammation of the urethra. Talk to your veterinarian. There are some major feline studies being done on what are very promising! If your kittys urine needs more acidity due to struvite crystals can also add dry cranberry extract, just a pinch 2X a day on wet food. And you can try pinch of Vitamin C sprinkled on as well. Give your cat to drink distilled water only. Both my vet and I are convinced after having spoken with veterinarians throughout the county that the hardness and mineral content of water in different areas contributes to the number cases of urinary tract infection in these areas. From here to ... distilled water only. Another suggestion ... is to get kitty a fountain water. I bought the Bigdog Drinkwell for my cats and keep filled with distilled water and they love it. This is an excellent way to encourage water consumption. Finally, get a bag of litter science so you can keep track of kittys PH levels at home. You will not be able to detect the crystals at home that cause blockages, but if the pH is off ... Kitty you could get a urinalysis immediately and perhaps avoid an obstruction. Good luck!

Question: Do Drinkwell fountain for the cats, the puppy can drink that, too?
I have a Drinkwell pet fountain with a 50 Oz reservoir for our two cats. We're getting a puppy next month and hoped we could use the well, we now have for the dog. The fountain filters the water and, if necessary, we could always have the larger reservoir, which is 70 ounces. Who knows a problem with this?
Answer: I do not see any problems with it. Your puppy is it safe at first .. but if the puppy loves the water, then fine.

Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain Demonstration
Q: My animal Drinkwell fountain w / optional dam broken?I just moved and the configuration of the mat for the first time in my new place for my kitten, and has the additional option of reservoir containers 50 oz. When you complete this jar and place in it only "glug, glug, glug" continues to fill the container, all the way over flows in the soil, which seems to have forgotten to stop. And it is on a flat surface, the tile floor. I thought this was only physics, so I do not know how he could have broken him, any ideas?
Answer: Not sure if you tried, but the water filling the tank and screw it while its still upsidown. Then flip on the flat surface. If that doesn't work, its probably something wrong with that. Even if there is a small hole (by company or error handling) crack, or place the screws together isn't closing properly, you can not work correctly. I like to change a new one, if that doesn't work right either, back into the cup. Not luxurious, but never fails!

Q: What keeps the Laguna Chocolate Fountain?
Tell me what you have to put in, how much chocolate, water, sugar and other things? What remains soft and flows like water? Does chocolate all end? Do you have to refill it? Is it hygienic sense, if someone sticks in his half-eaten strawberry in it, could that cause the germs???? Did you have one for your special occasion?
Answer: Ah, chocolate fountains. I bought one for a friend as a wedding gift and set it up for the event. You can usually rent the silver of a rental company for parties and is what the mix to offer or recommend a catering company, however, I looked into it and the easiest way to make the flow of chocolate is the combination 2 parts chocolate chips (any kind you like) and 1 vegetable oil or butter and melt. You can do this in a skillet, heat some sources for their own account. Sounds weird and serious, but people will never know (not at the wedding of my friends) The chocolate will be exhausted if not fill it. Do not add water or sugar or anything else that chocolate that will seem strange and funny taste. Yes it can spread germs if people are sticking things that are eating half of it, but until may sauces, spreads, entrees that people use their personal items, any social gathering danger of germs. On a scale of one to ten but I would say that chocolate is a low risk.

Question: How can I make fake water?I'm doing a "source" of a school play and misconceptions need water and real water would be far from heavy. I want to make it appear that flows though. (It's for Beauty and the Beast)
Answer: Go to a party "" Supply Store. There are blue metallic streamers a bit like a hula skirt metal blue. This is what I used on my plumbing float and everyone said it looked wonderful. Good luck!

Question: My cat will not sit in our Drinkwell Pet Fountain to drink more. Any suggestions?

Answer: they will drink from a regular cup? That is odd that they did not drink out of that more. Make sure she is getting enough to drink.

I have the petmate fountain, and I wonder if the would-Aqua Garden Drinkwell Fountain for this? i work, have the deluxe model, which looks almost exactly the same as the Drinkwell, and a few inches deep.
Answer: I doubt it works, because the fountain petmate a flat base in comparison to the Drinkwell has. It will not be enough to support water-level growth.

Question: How can I get my cat to drink water from the fountian I bought?
He refuses to drink from a bowl next to your meal so I got a fresh water source for Christmas (it was only $ 44) but will not drink it, or thought I wanted to see the water flowing because always drink from the sink instead of the cup, but he still will not drink from the source. When I saw him at the pet store I realized I was drinking water in a feeder such as those using a rabbit hamsters. If I use one of those instead?
Answer: I doubt that your cat is not drinking water at all. Unless you are standing on the cup from 24 / 7 no way of knowing if you're drinking it or not. Rrm38 I agree, although I know you must move all the way to the sink. Sounds like that is not used to the water right next to the food. Try moving to another area of the room, or even a different room. Go little a little closer to the source plate of food in the course of a few weeks. If you honestly do not think that drinking any water, then definitely try one of the bottles water of rodents. If you grew up in one of those, and was removed from his mother too early to learn to drink by rolling up your tongue, you may not know how to drink a cup.

The WaterDog - Automatic Outdoor Pet Fountain
Question: Another question peeing outside the box. Are you sick?I have a pair of 2-year-old covered litter trained cats. I saw one urinating Right next to the litter box, but on the ground. She does not seem in pain, no problem urinating, no visible blood in the urine. Besides, someone has been urinating on a plant which is near the box. I get the plant and clean the floor and to remove the smell. I rarely drink water despite having a source of company, but eat wet food only thing I can add a little water because it is hot here lately. Only got a small bowl of water with a little juice to taste to cat food and cat pee pee floor drank it all and his sister too. Finally my question: was dehydrated and need not go to the vet today or may expect if I get to drink more water. This is not a question of "cannot afford the vet" 2 litter boxes, very, very clean. Never had a problem before of this in 2 years
Answer: I would like to see the vet as soon as possible. His "thirst" Kitty is too young to kidney disease, but excessive drinking is a symptom of this (and diabetes), kidney disease and, sometimes inherited, so they want to know as soon possible. Dietary changes are necessary, and some other things, if that's the problem. Three possibilities for urinating or drinking in order of severity: 1. An accident of time that is the smell of urine in the area. Until you use an enzyme product that will completely remove the smell, the cats will continue to use the area as just another box sand. Excellent product listed below and link to it. (Miracle of nature) 2. Your cat has a urinary tract infection - a major symptom is piss outside the box. IU can only be diagnosed by your veterinarian. The sooner you get her in, and starting antibiotics (if a urinary tract infection), plus be happy. Urinary tract infections can be very uncomfortable. 3. A disease like diabetes or chronic renal (kidney) failure. If CRF is detected early, that applies to you, cats can live for years and years. A cat lived 12 years after diagnosis. The word "failure" seems daunting, "shortage" is probably a better word - it just means the kidneys can not do everything you intended to do on your own for longer. If you suspect the FCI, your vet will have to do a complete blood count and check your creatinine, BUN and phosphorus levels. Mentioned reason is the excessive consumption of alcohol, which is a symptom of CKD. Kittens CRF reaching the point where drinking alone can not keep sufficiently hydrated, and require subcutaneous (under-the-skin) fluids. Most people start by having the veterinarian show you how to do this, and then manage them at home.
